Potato gratin with assorted steak

Peel and slice the potatoes, along with them, preparing the other ingredients for the gratin.

In an oven tray lined with butter and garlic slices add a row of potatoes a row of cheese until we finish with a row of potatoes, seasoning as we add the potatoes. In a bowl mix the beaten egg with the milk, sour cream and 100 grams of cheese, add spices to taste. Pour half of the amount over the potatoes in the pan and cover with aluminum foil and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, take it out of the oven, remove the foil and pour the rest of the milk composition with cheese and sprinkle aromatic herbs on top and put in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the composition binds and browns on top.

It can be served with steak or just accompanied by salad, this time I made a assorted steak with pork chop and chicken legs.

Pt steak: cut the pieces of meat and season them with salt and pepper and place them in the oven tray. Add water, oil, garlic and herbs and grease the pieces of meat with tomato paste to make a golden crust in the oven.

Bake them in the preheated oven, the first 15 minutes covered with an aluminum foil and then another 25-30 minutes without foil and over low heat, I made the steak at the same time as the potato gratin.

I served the steak accompanied by the potato gratin and a cabbage salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. Cumin gives these croquettes a special taste! After it has homogenized, gradually add the flour. The dough will be milky, but not sticky and the amount of flour depends a lot on the type of potatoes and / or the consistency of the puree, so the flour will be added gradually.

On the floured work table, spread the dough in a sheet with a thickness of about 0.5 cm. Fold in 3 and then again in 3 and spread again in 1 cm thick sheet. Figurines are cut with various shapes. My grandmother cut these croquettes into shapes that mimicked the symbols on the playing cards: heart (cup), chariot, club and spade. Now you can find in stores many shapes specially created for children: flowers and animals. And my son wanted to cut bears!

If you have boiled potatoes in the shell from the previous day, you can considerably shorten the cooking times.

Baked potatoes with steak

Potatoes 6-8 pcs
Beef steak 1-2 pcs
Granulated garlic 1 tsp

Boil the potatoes in a saucepan for 20 minutes. When they are ready check with a fork to be done.
Put a baking sheet in the oven tray and place the potatoes, leaving enough space around them so that we can crush them. Cut each potato into a cross shape. With a potato masher, press each potato until it flattens to a thickness of about 1 cm.
Season the mashed potatoes with plenty of olive oil, salt, pepper, ground rosemary and granulated garlic.
Put in the oven heated to 220 degrees for 30 minutes. Be careful not to burn yourself. Meanwhile, grate 200 g of Parmesan cheese. Peel and chop 4-5 cloves of garlic. Finely chop a bunch of parsley. Mix in a bowl the garlic with the parsley, salt and 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Set it aside.
When the potatoes are ready, take them out of the oven and put a piece of butter on each potato. Divide the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the potatoes. Put back in the oven for 6-8 minutes at 200 degrees.
Season the beef steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a little olive oil in a pan. Roast the steak for 2 minutes on both sides. Then put a cube of butter, 2-3 cloves of garlic and a few sprigs of fresh rosemary in the pan. Brown for another 2 minutes on each side.
When the potatoes are ready, put a teaspoon of garlic and parsley sauce on each one. Consume in moderation!
