Spiked Cranberry Lemonade

For those of you that follow me on social media, you’ve probably seen an Instagram story, or caught a Facebook Live recently, where I’ve been sharing all about the “Fixer Upper” I purchased with my boyfriend Kurt!

We did all of the demo ourselves and then spent the last month sitting around waiting for permits to be approved by the city of San Diego. Magically this week, it happened! The permits were approved and that means the remodel can begin. This definitely called for an impromptu celebration!

I grabbed a bottle of Tropicana Lemonade and made a super simple cocktail. Simple, but so delicious and definitely going in my happy hour regular rotation!

Tropicana Lemonade has no artificial flavors or sweeteners, it’s perfectly refreshing and it’s great served with a splash of cranberry juice and a dash of vodka!

  • 3 oz Tropicana Lemonade
  • 1 oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • Ice
  • Rosemary Sprigs – Optional Garnish

Add lemonade, cranberry juice, vodka and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a glass with ice. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and rosemary sprigs.

I love the addition of rosemary as a garnish. It adds a hint of rosemary flavor to the cocktail and makes for a beautiful presentation, while still keeping the cocktail super simple!

Tropicana Premium Lemonades and Drinks are perfect for sipping on by themselves or mixing into simple cocktails for impromptu celebrations any time of the year!

Cranberry Vodka Cocktail

Let’s keep this short and sweet today. I have a fun cocktail for you. It is perfect for your holiday get together, New Years Eve, or just because you have some cranberries lying around. Vodka and Cranberry is a very classic drink, I just added some fizz. I have a thing about fizz. For some reason, I think that cocktails need to have fizz in them! Call me crazy, or call me genius – just make this drink.

Cranberry and vodka is a classic cocktail combination. It is simple, tangy, and just plain delicious. As much as I like the classic combination, I always have to mix things up. So I added a little splash of something fizzy. Because by this point, we all know I like my cocktail with some fizz!! I mean Skinny Mojitos are probably my new favorite.

Cranberry vodka cocktail is just one of those drinks you can throw together on a Friday night or you can serve at a party. The fresh cranberries, when it season, just give it a little something extra for presentation. Definitely not required. Add a slice of lime and you will something pretty enough to serve at your fanciest party!

You can make this cranberry vodka cocktail for just one, or make a whole pitcher of them! If you make a whole picture, leave out the ginger ale until you serve. Just let each person add a splash as they pour one.

Or put out a big punch bowl, and add the ginger ale right as your guests arrive. Less work for you, and the drink stays fizzy. If you are feeling festive, add a little squeeze of lime to the drink for a little twist.

I created a fun group on Facebook, and I would love for you to join us! It’s a place where you can share YOUR favorite recipes, ask questions, and see what’s new at Dinners, and Desserts (so that you never miss a new recipe)! If you’d like to check it out, you can request to join HERE.

I stumbled upon Martha Stewart's Christmas punch while looking through holiday cocktail recipes on her website.

Stewart is the last person I've interviewed — well, in person — since March. We talked about making the perfect rice, cooking with Snoop Dogg, and our favorite drinks. Stewart told me that she loves a "Polish vodka on the rocks with a great big wedge of orange," and that she hasn't touched gin since one very drunk night in college.

So it's no surprise that there's plenty of vodka and zero gin in Stewart's holiday punch, which has great reviews on her website.

"So very good and gives you just enough of a kick, if you know what I mean," one cheeky comment reads.

Serving your punch

I like to prepare this recipe in individual glasses. Add your cranberries, triple sec, and cranberry juice to each glass, then top with Prosecco.

If desired, you can prepare in a pitcher or punch bowl instead. If using a large punch bowl, you can easily double this recipe and add orange slices on top for added visual appeal.

Lemon Thyme and Ginger

After you make Triple C Cranberry Sauce, you will have extra cranberry juice that needs a purpose. You could drink it plain for breakfast. Crantini’s are nice cocktails. Or, infuse the juice with herbs and spices for a festive signature cocktail. The latter is my choice, especially since I love martinis made with fruit juice muddled with fresh herbs and spices. Spiced Cranberry Vodka Cocktail takes its inspiration from the classic Cosmo Cocktail and is perfect for entertaining.

There are many fun cocktails for the holidays, but my inspiration came for the need to use up some leftover juice, and a request from Joe, “If you’re going to make a cocktail, make a vodka cocktail.” How could I refuse? Vodka has a clean alcohol flavor which mixes well with many fruit juices. I am not a fan of flavored vodkas, they just taste artificial to me. It is also less expensive to flavor the vodka myself then buy 3 different types of flavored vodka. All you need to get the flavors of herbs and spices in your drink, is to add a small herb sprig or fruit, and muddle it to release its oils. Then add the remaining ingredients and shake away.

The scents and flavors of my cranberry sauce got me thinking about new ideas for a vodka cocktail. Many herbs pair nicely with cranberry and I started dreaming about adding rosemary, ginger and orange bitters to cranberry juice. I tried steeping rosemary, ginger, lemon peel and allspice into the cranberry juice. Unfortunately, after 36 hours the juice tasted no different. I am going to work on this some more, but until then a cocktail shaker and a muddle gets the job done.

When we drink cocktails, vodka is our preferred libation. Though I am not remiss for trying other beverages like tequila for a Classic Margarita, and stout in a Guinness Stout Float. Even cooking with spirits is fun like, Chocolate Stout Cake.

I am particular about my drinks, because I prefer them on the dry side. Many cocktails are too sweet for my tastes. Yet, I recognize some drinks need a touch of sugar for the flavors to balance out. There is a fine line of how much simple syrup to add before it gets too much, but it does make a difference. Spiced cranberry vodka cocktail needs just a pinch of sugar to offset the harsh vodka and tart cranberry juice. It is amazing how even a small amount can change a drink from good to wow.

Granulated sugar does not dissolve in cold beverages, but simple syrup does. Imagine that layer of sugar at the bottom of a glass of iced tea and you’ll get the picture. No one wants that slurry in a cocktail. That is why simple syrup is used. Depending on how sweet your juice is, you may or may not need the simple syrup. The first time you make it, taste as you go to figure out how much simple syrup you need to reach your desired balance of flavor. Simple syrup is a good option to have at your disposal, whether you want a cocktail or a non-alcoholic beverage.

Spiced cranberry vodka cocktail is a remake of two classic drinks, Crantini and a Cosmo. The fresh herbs and spice from the ginger make this cocktail a festive and refreshing beverage. It would also taste great in a non-alcoholic beverage using the herb infused cranberry juice with seltzer or ginger ale.

Easy Frozen Punch

I am here with just one last recipe before Christmas, and I am making it a super easy one. This Easy Frozen Punch will be a hit with both the kids and the adults at your get together. I have done plenty of Holiday Cocktail Recipes, but this one is for the whole crowd. You can add vodka if you want to make it for the adults. Or just have that on the side for the grown ups to add if they want.

I love punch, when I was growing up we had it every Christmas Eve. We would come home from church to have meatballs, cheese and sausage, and other appetizers and a fruity, fizzy punch to drink. You guys know I like fizzy drinks like Cranberry Vodka Cocktails, so it should come as no surprise I am all over punch recipes.

When we were visiting our family for Thanksgiving my mother in law had a Taste of Home magazine on her coffee table. I was paging through it, and found a recipe for Icy Holiday Punch. I know my son would love it, so I made it as soon as I could. And he was definitely excited when I made a drink that didn’t contain alcohol, so he could have it too!

This Easy Frozen Punch comes together in just minutes. You make it the night before and then just store it in the freezer over night. A few hours before your party starts take it out to let it start to thaw. Then you add the ginger ale (that is room temperature) and it starts to thaw and get slushy. No ice cubes or watering down your punch. Just sweet, fruity, and fizzy deliciousness in your glass!

So get ready for your holiday parties or get togethers and have a fun drink ready. Everything mixes together in just one bowl, just a few simple ingredients, and you are done. Can’t get much easier than that!

I wouldn’t suggest making this ahead of time because the sparkling water will lose its fizz. But it only takes minutes to make, so it’s easy to do right before serving.

It’s my favorite served over crushed ice. If you don’t have crushed ice, just make sure to serve it cold.

This is so good that even kids usually like it, but you can always dilute it out more with extra sparkling water.

Punch Made With Vodka

Vodka is, without doubt, the most popular ingredient for most of the well known punch recipes used around the world. This fact is mainly due to how well this ingredient really compliments the other ingredients to bring out the best tastes. To carry on this trend, we are providing here the Cranberry Vodka punch recipe, which is very common and widely used for many party occasions.

To create the cranberry vodka punch, you will require the ingredients listed above. You should adjust your quantities based upon how much punch mixture you require (i.e. how many guests you need to cater for). Simply mix all the ingredients. Once this has been completed, add lots of ice cubs into the mixture. And finally, serve to your guests and enjoy this delicious tasting punch.

The cranberry vodka is a great drink – but is only one of many different recipes with vodka being a key ingredient.
